About the Commission

The Maritime Navigation Commission of DGON is the expert committee for current developments in maritime navigation, positioning and transport technology. It brings together experts from academia, industry, public authorities, as well as user and operator organizations, and promotes scientific and technical exchange.

The focus is on modern navigation and communication systems, as well as methods for improving safety, efficiency and sustainability in maritime and inland waterway transport. The Commission monitors technological developments, evaluates new concepts and supports knowledge transfer between research and practice.
